Palestinian hopes for the future

Palestine is historically closely connected with the beginning of our calendar 2000 years ago. Such historical references can be found in the Palestinian pavilion in the hall of the Arab states. The eight-cornered outline is adapted from the octagon of the Jerusalem Dome of the Rock, the oldest Islamic historical monument.

The exhibition itself takes up the Palestinian nation's problems of today on the way to statehood: an infrastructure neglected during the years of occupation, unemployment, water shortage and environmental damage. The reforestation project 'Green Palestine 2000' will be presented for example, but also culture and folklore, which have shaped and preserved Palestinian identity.
