The Central Council of Muslims in Germany (ZMD) is the leading group of the Islamic umbrella organisation. It functions as an addressee target for state, administration and other groups of the society. The ZMD wants to represent the interests oft the mosque parishes and the Islamic clubs and associations towards public bodies.
19 umbrella organisations with many hundred mosque parishes from all over Germany belong to the Council. Among them are German, Turkish, Arabic, Bosnian, Albanian and Persian Muslims.
